Short bionote:
My current research focuses on the philosophies of transhumanism and the ethics of human enhancement. I'm developing a version of the welfarist approach to human enhancement which is grounded on a distinctive conception of human nature. I'm adapting C. B. Macpherson’s developmental notion of human nature in order to claim that it is possible and desirable to consider the ethics of human enhancement at the light of the normative prescriptions human nature sets on it. By fitting together the revised developmental notion and a proviso on how and in what ways human enhancing technologies are to be used, I hope to argue for a moderate biopolitical alternative called developmental democratic transhumanism.
